In this episode, our guest is Gina Fernandez, Owner of Skin by Gina. Gina is an entrepreneur on fire. Running her own business now for over 10 years, she has a salon in Milpitas, Skin By Gina, a 5 Star Spa, which offers facials, massage, waxing, and makeup application. She is well known for her award winning on-site wedding and special occasion services. She also teaches airbrush makeup application at Blush School of Makeup in San Francisco. Be on the look out for her new make up line GG Cosmetics launching in the next few months.
In our interview, Gina shares her 5 best tips for beauty and skin care. She tells her entrepreneur story, what it took to get her business off the ground and what advice she would give others just starting out.
As I did my research preparing for this interview I began to notice a theme. Over and over Brides were gushing about the experience they had when they hired Gina to do their hair and makeup for their weddings. Everyone can relate. If you have ever been a bride, loved a bride, or seen a single wedding in any movie you know the stress and anxiety a bride can feel on the day of her wedding. Gina’s superpower seems to extend far beyond her beauty skills. She helps her brides feel calm. She helps her clients understand what they want and then she delivers it.
“I can honestly say that of all the vendors that were a part of our wedding, Gina stands out as the best, most professional person I worked with. She was the best decision that I made during the wedding process.” Sara B. on Yelp
“On the big day her presence and energy was just what we needed, she was so cool and easy to talk to. I was quite ill leading up to my wedding, and Gina was so caring and compassionate to top it all off. She made me and my girls looks more beautiful than I could have even imagined, and I would highly recommend hiring her for your event!” Brianne B on TheKnot.com
